A duo of site managers from housebuilder Mactaggart & Mickel reached the finals of the national NHBC Pride in the Job Supreme Awards recently.

Stuart Gillespie was announced as the runner-up in the ‘Medium Housebuilder category following a rigorous 12-month judging process which saw Stuart and his counterpart Garry Henderson being assessed against thousands of site managers across the UK.

Stuart, who started with Mactaggart & Mickel as an apprentice three decades ago and has won the Supreme Award four times previously, was recognised for his Greenan Views development at Doonfoot in Ayr, in the ‘Medium Housebuilder’ category.

Garry Henderson also made it to the finals for his Milverton Grange development in Giffnock. Garry won the Scottish title in the ‘Multi-storey’ category in October last year – the first Pride in the Job award won in this category for the Glasgow-headquartered housebuilder.

Mactaggart & Mickel chief executive Ed Monaghan said, “My warmest congratulations to Stuart for his runner-up award and to Garry for getting this far and reaching the finals, both have deservedly been recognised in 2018 for their exceptional leadership and quality of work at Greenan Views in Ayr and Milverton Grange in Giffnock.

“As a company we’re known for the superior quality of our homes, which is only possible due to the hard work of our site teams at every development. Alongside this achievement I would like to also pay tribute to our other site manager who was also recognised by the 2018 NHBC Pride in the Job Awards – Martyn Anderson, who was shortlisted for a regional award for Castle Grove at Newton Mearns.”
