CALA Homes (East) has delivered 14 new affordable homes at a Midlothian housing development.
The builder has worked with Melville Housing Association to construct the homes for the Eagle’s Green development, adjacent to Broomieknowe Golf Club in Bonnyrigg.
The homes comprise six terraced units and eight cottage flats. Alasdair Hughes, land buyer at CALA Homes (East) said, “It’s been a lengthy but positive process to get the development to this stage, with great engagement from the local community at the offset generating spin-off benefits for the wider area. It’s now gratifying to hear that these social housing units are the finest that the association have ever received.”
Neil Edgar, development manager of Melville Housing Association added, “These properties are part of a fantastic development and are a very welcome addition to our housing stock. These are the best new build homes and flats we’ve ever received and to have them in such a desirable location is ideal, with a wide range of local amenities such as schools and shops.
“This represents our first project with CALA Homes and we hope to build on this experience and work together on more developments in the future. We’re also indebted to the Scottish Government and Midlothian Council for their support on this project as well as others across the county.”
