SIPs specified for Balmoral sentry box commission

JML Contracts has constructed a new high-end sentry box on the Balmoral Estate.

Built using Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) for a “highly insulated, airtight and draft free” solution, JML said this is the second box that has been built by the firm following “very positive feedback” from the sentries.

Produced offsite in JML’s Perthshire factory, the box is constructed with SIPs walls and clad in timber, which is painted in the estate green.

John Langley, director of JML Contracts said, “This was a great commission for us, especially as a re-order, which is testament to how happy the sentries were with the first one that we produced.

“It demonstrates the flexibility of building in SIPs, allowing us to produce a bespoke construction for the Balmoral Estate.

“As a really cold part of Scotland in winter, it was also vital that it was as insulated and draft free as possible. We are delighted that it has been so well received.”
