CAMBUSLANG-based subcontractor Veitchi Group has announced that a charitable initiative – called Veitchi Gives – set up to mark the firm’s centenary has raised almost £35,000 for 17 charities.
The firm has organised over 25 fundraising events including a Zumbathon, walking and camping the West Highland Way, and a spinathon and golf day. Staff also took park in various 5km and 10km road races.
Veitchi’s 332 staff, based in 12 offices across Scotland and the north west of England, also donated 125 food boxes to local food banks and pledged 40 pints of blood.
Group MD Jim Preston said, “We are really proud of what we have managed to achieve as an organisation on behalf of so many great causes. I would like to thank each and every one of our staff, suppliers and business partners for the efforts they have made to make our centenary year truly memorable and worthy of this historic organisation.”
Veitchi said several of the group’s five divisions also recently reported that they are in “rude health”.
Veitchi Interiors, Scotland’s only approved installer of the offsite-built lightweight steel structure Metframe, has an order book worth £7 million. Meanwhile, the firm’s two flooring divisions, Veitchi Flooring and Veitchi Industrial Flooring, recently completed contracts valued at £2 million and £700,000 respectively.
Jim Preston added, “These divisions continue to excel in their respective fields and we have a pipeline of exciting projects coming up during 2018.”
