STRATHAVEN Golf Club is selling a 1.92 acre site, which will be the location for new homes in the area.
A portion of land next to the first hole has been put up for sale to help fund the “relocation and modernisation” of the golf club’s green keeper’s accommodation.
The site has now been earmarked for housing within the South Lanarkshire Local Development Plan. Ross Woods Architects has entered into discussions with the local council regarding the principle of a residential development including around 19 new apartments.
JLL is managing the sale on behalf of the golf club. Nina Stobie, JLL associate director said, “Strathaven has a thriving local community which will benefit from any additional development ensuing from the sale of land at the golf club. The opportunity to develop new housing on this prime greenfield site is likely to attract significant interest, and we look forward to engaging with the council, developers and the local community as we progress with the sale.”
