Engineering consultancy firm WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff has made two new appointments to its senior building services team in Scotland.
Scott Baird, formally of Buro Happold, is taking on the role of technical director and Allan Follett, formerly of Atelier Ten, has been appointed associate director.
The duo will primarily focus on winning new business across the higher education sector as well as supporting the company’s growth strategy.
The company said the move “will help further expand the company’s already significant presence across the higher education sector”.
Graeme Bruce, who leads the building services team in Scotland, said, “The appointments of Scott and Allan come at a crucial time for WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff as we continue with an aggressive growth strategy over the next 12 months.
“Their focus will be on expanding our customer base around the country, in particular the west of Scotland, which is a target area for us.
“Winning two world-class university projects in the last few months has been a major success for our business and reflects our capabilities within the industry.”
He added, “To help us achieve these ambitious plans we continue to invest on recruiting not only experienced senior staff, but also fresh young talent, and boosting the number of female engineers within the firm.
“Since last year almost one in six (16%) of our Glasgow-based staff are graduate and almost a third are female.
“We’re very proud of this statistic and hope to increase these numbers over the coming months.”
