Emporio Armani is to open a new flagship store in Glasgow as the first retail occupier within CONNECT110NS, a Grade A mixed use development spearheaded by BAM Properties.
The Italian fashion house, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, will create a two level store with a striking double height frontage spanning 6,300 sq ft (585 sq m), creating a much larger presence within a prominent location at 224 Ingram Street, within the heart of Glasgow’s Style Mile. It will join premium fashion brands including Polo Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss and Mulberry who currently trade on the thoroughfare.
The flagship store will open before Christmas and replace the current Armani store located within the Merchant City which was the first Armani store in the UK to open outside of London in 1990.
John Burke, Managing Director Properties, BAM Construct UK said, “Armani’s presence within CONNECT110NS is a fantastic style statement for this part of Glasgow, and indeed our development, and underpins the city’s reputation for fashion. It’s a terrific complement to our existing occupiers within the office element of the development and we are looking forward to welcoming them.”
Completed in June, CONNECT110NS, owned by Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management, is located at the corner of Queen Street and Ingram Street. It has 13,700 sq ft (1,272 sq m) of retail space on the ground floor remaining for let. The eight upper floors of Grade A office accommodation have already attracted a number of leading professional service companies including Brodies, Deloitte and Grant Thornton with 83,000 sq ft (7,710 sq m) still available for let.
