THREE historic buildings across Scotland have been put up for sale by exclusive venue hire company AmaZing Venues. Acting on behalf of parent company Clarenco LLP, Colliers International is marketing the three properties to potential investors on an individual basis.
The first of the properties is Ackergill Tower, an original 15th century tower near John o’ Groats in the Highlands of Scotland, situated on the edge of the coastline overlooking Sinclair’s Bay. Set in 30 acres of grounds, the property was significantly extended in the 19th century before being extensively refurbished and renovated more recently. Regularly visited by a host of celebrities, Ackergill Tower is renowned internationally.
Colliers is inviting offers in excess of £4.5 million for the property, which includes a former stable block that has been recently converted into additional luxury accommodation, alongside additional function and catering facilities, a number of separate cottages and the largest tree house (with a circular bedroom) in Europe. The investment also comes with a 15-year lease for shooting and fishing rights on 3,000 acres of nearby land.
South of Edinburgh lies Carberry Tower, a 16th century mansion situated in over 30 acres of listed parkland, just seven miles from Edinburgh city centre. Offering 30 luxury bedrooms, nine function rooms, a library, and former chapel, Carberry Tower is a popular wedding venue and benefits from a recent extensive refurbishment programme. The property also boasts royal connections, as Her Majesty The Queen and Princess Margaret both stayed at Carberry Tower regularly as children, alongside Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. Colliers is inviting offer over £3 million for this investment opportunity.
Finally, in the heart of the Angus countryside, the 19th century Baronial-style Kinnettles Castle is being marketed for offers over £2.5 million. Currently operating as an exclusive-use conference, wedding and corporate events venue, Kinnettles Castle offers well-appointed public rooms, 11 letting bedrooms with separate garden pavilion marque, all within 44 acres of parkland. The Gate Lodge has also been converted to provide two additional letting bedrooms.
