Aberdeen City Council kicks off road repair work

THE annual roads resurfacing programme has started in Aberdeen. A budget of almost £4m has been set aside with more than £2m of the total earmarked for surface improvements.

Gordon McIntosh, the council’s director of enterprise, planning and infrastructure said: “Roads maintenance and repairs is something we work on year round, when the weather permits. The advent of spring allows us to crack on with the work and concentrate on resurfacing stretches of road across the city. Our primary focus this year will be on resurfacing roads which carry significant levels of traffic.
“As well as the resurfacing programme, we will continue carrying out repairs on all roads in Aberdeen. Over the course of three months, the roads team repaired more than 4,000 potholes and they continue filling potholes on a daily basis.”
