CONSTRUCTION of a £215m low-carbon business park in the north east is expected to begin early in the new year.
The developer behind the The Core at Berryhill plans to install the latest renewable technology in new units at the site located in Aberdeenshire’s Energetica Corridor.
Owner Moreof Berryhill is working with London property fund Mountgrange Investment Management and Generate Land to create buildings rated as “excellent” under BREEAM standards.
Belfast practice Fuse Architects is understood to be in the final stages of negotiations to appoint a contractor to start work on the 100-acre site that will accommodate more than 1.5 million sq. ft. of office, industrial, and distribution space.
The developer says the investment is a response to the growing demand from oil, gas and energy companies for additional high-quality space to expand their businesses.
Mountgrange partner Rob West said: “The energy sector is continuing to grow in the north east and is creating demand for high-quality space, making it a strong investment opportunity.”
