EDINBURGH-headquartered construction consultancy Thomson Gray has been shortlisted as a finalist in three categories across two major UK awards.

The firm has been nominated for Construction Consultant/Surveyor of the Year (fewer than 100 staff) at the 2026 UK Building Awards, where it is the only Scottish-headquartered consultancy among the finalists in its category.

Thomson Gray has also secured two places on the shortlist for the SME National Business Awards 2026, in the Business of the Year (More than 50 Employees) and Apprentice Employer of the Year categories. It is the only Scottish company represented on the national shortlist.

The nominations recognise a period of continued growth for the business, alongside its investment in developing the next generation of construction professionals.

MD Stuart Gray said, “To be shortlisted for three national awards is a fantastic endorsement of the work being done right across Thomson Gray. We are very proud to be an independent Scottish business, and it is great to see our team and our work recognised alongside firms from across the UK.

“What matters most is that these nominations recognise two sides of the business that go hand in hand: the quality of the work we deliver for our clients and the time we invest in our people. The Apprentice Employer of the Year nomination means a great deal to us because developing people and giving them the opportunity to build long-term careers in the industry has always been a big part of how we operate.

“These nominations belong to the whole Thomson Gray team and reflect the expertise, hard work and commitment they bring to the business every day.”

Winners of both awards will be announced at ceremonies in London next month.
