Campion Homes’ golf day raises £12,000 for British Heart Foundation

CAMPION Homes’ annual charity golf day has raised £12,000 for the British Heart Foundation.

Held at Lundin Golf Club and Lundin Ladies Golf Club, the event brought together almost 100 golfers from across Fife and beyond.

This year’s charity was chosen by the Lundin Golf Club committee in memory of their dear friend and respected council member, John Moncrieff, whose connection to the club made the day’s fundraising efforts a particularly fitting tribute.

As longstanding sponsors of the event, Campion Homes welcomed the wide variety of teams, reflecting the strong relationships that have been built through the annual competition over many years. Golfers took part in a range of challenges including nearest the pin, putting and the ever-popular Beat the Pro competition.

The impressive fundraising total was boosted by a charity raffle and auction, supported by generosity from Campion Homes suppliers, subcontractors, and the local business community.

Almost 50 companies donated prizes, while Stuart’s the Bakers & Butchers kindly supplied breakfast before the golfers hit the fairways. Lundin Golf Club head professional, Ron Walker, also donated his time to run the Beat the Pro challenge, with the Pro Shop generously providing the competition prize.

Pete Bell, chairman of Campion Homes, said, “This event is always a highlight of the year, bringing together colleagues, partners, friends and supporters for a fantastic day while raising money for an important cause. This year was particularly special as we supported the British Heart Foundation in memory of John Moncrieff. The generosity shown by everyone involved was remarkable, and the £12,000 raised will help the British Heart Foundation continue its vital work funding lifesaving research and supporting those affected by heart and circulatory disease.

“A special thank you goes to Pete and June Rogers for once again leading the organisation of the event, supported by Jill Harper, whose hard work and commitment helped make the day such a success. We would also like to thank Lundin Golf Club for their hospitality and support in hosting the event. And of course, thank you to everyone who took part, donated prizes or supported the day in any way. Your generosity and kindness made a real difference.”

David McColgan, Head of British Heart Foundation Scotland, added, “We are incredibly grateful to Campion Homes for this generous donation. Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love to cardiovascular disease, the world’s biggest killer, but with support of our wonderful public fundraisers, British Heart Foundation continues to power groundbreaking research to save and improve lives.”
