TRUST Housing Association has announced the appointment of David Knight as its new chair, succeeding Dr Norval Bryson who has stepped down after four years in the role.
David has more than 35 years of leadership experience in the Scottish housebuilding sector, including MD positions at Bryant Homes, Miller Homes and Avant Homes, as well as a former chairmanship at Homes for Scotland.
Having served as Trust’s vice chair and convenor of the audit and performance committee since 2021, his appointment is described as ensuring ‘strong continuity’ as the organisation prepares to launch its new five-year strategy, ‘Ready, together.’
Dr Bryson stepped down from the role after five years on the board. During his time as chair, Trust delivered its ‘Time is Now’ strategy, strengthened its financial position and resilience, and invested in new and existing homes, services and technology capabilities.
“Serving as chair of Trust has been both an honour and a pleasure,” he said. “During my time as chair, I have had the opportunity to work with an exceptional board, talented colleagues and dedicated partners who are all committed to improving people’s lives. I am proud of what we have achieved together. I leave knowing Trust is in capable hands and I wish David, Jackie and the entire organisation every success for the years ahead.”
David Knight added, “It is a privilege to be appointed chair of Trust. I would also like to pay tribute to Norval for his outstanding leadership during his time as chair.
