CRUDEN has concluded a deal to acquire the former Postings Shopping Centre site in Kirkcaldy, marking a milestone in plans to deliver affordable housing in the town.
Working in partnership with Kingdom Group, the housebuilder is bringing forward proposals to regenerate the brownfield site, which has remained vacant since the shopping centre was demolished in 2023.
The proposed development will deliver 135 affordable homes, including dedicated accommodation for people aged 55 and over. The plans feature a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments alongside traditionally inspired colony-style homes.

Their efforts have unlocked an important opportunity to deliver much-needed affordable homes while supporting the wider regeneration of Kirkcaldy town centre.

Working in partnership with Kingdom Group, we have an opportunity to transform it into a high-quality, well-connected residential development that responds to local housing needs and makes a positive contribution to the future of Kirkcaldy town centre. We have already had valuable input from the local community through our consultation process and look forward to building on that as we progress towards a formal planning application.”

Cruden has already undertaken a programme of community engagement as part of the pre-application process, following the submission of a Proposal of Application Notice to Fife Council. Feedback from local residents and stakeholders is said to be helping to shape the proposals ahead of the submission of a formal planning application.
