ENTREPRENEUR Mark Glasgow, founder of the Edinburgh Boiler Company (EBC) and Energy Training Academy, has completed the acquisition of Edinburgh video production company Just Shot.

The Midlothian-based firm covers everything from social media content and advertising to corporate and commercial events as well as 3D animation, sound design and scriptwriting. Clients include Mercedes Benz UK, Rolls-Royce and Aston Martin. As well as leading car dealerships and automotive brands, creative director Sergiusz Jezewski and his staff also work with law firms and trades companies.

Mark Glasgow believes the move will see him establish the country’s top marketing agency for the trades sector. The new company will be based in Dalkeith with five members of staff initially, complementing Trade Boss AI, the artificial intelligence platform he launched six months ago to help tradespeople and construction bosses better manage their businesses.

The platform uses AI agents to help improve the handling of leads, admin and customer communications and Trade Boss Marketing will operate as a standalone business alongside the platform.

“I have developed a lot of knowledge in building up EBC to a £10m-plus turnover company over the years,” Mark Glasgow said. “But I knew I needed the added expertise and drive that someone like Serge provides to launch a marketing agency like this. His capability and enthusiasm are the perfect fit for what I’m looking for. It was a no-brainer that we needed to work together and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve.

“So many marketing agencies across the country don’t really know the trades. I believe we have a unique offering; specific trade AI, specific marketing capability and specific coaching. It’s my mission to be the UK’s No. 1 marketing agency for trades and I’m confident it won’t take us long to achieve that. Some companies have larger turnovers but when it comes to marketing boilers, solar panels and heat pumps straight to the customer, nobody locally is doing it on a bigger scale than EBC.

“It is easy getting leads but the key is scaling and maintaining the profit and that’s what Trade Boss Marketing will do.”

Mr Jezewski (20) was born in Lodz, Poland, before moving to Edinburgh with his family when he was five. He established Just Shot in 2021 while studying at Holyrood High School, turning down the chance to study architecture at university to focus on honing his video production skills after completing sixth year.

“I stayed true to what I wanted to do, even though my parents weren’t too happy with my decision,” he said. “In fact, my mum didn’t talk to me for months! I got to know Mark while working on a documentary-style series for the Energy Training Academy. We clicked quite quickly as we both have the same approach to business.

“It means so much to me to have all the work that I have put into the business recognised by someone like Mark. He has built up the Edinburgh Boiler Company basically from nothing into this hugely successful operation and I’m delighted that he sees my value. Success was slow for me in the early years of Just Shot but this acquisition shows that all the time and effort put in was worth it.

“It’s an incredible feeling to have someone of Mark’s business stature put his trust and belief in me and my team to help grow Trade Boss Marketing into the major player we know it will become.”
