ENGINEERING and construction business Burns & McDonnell has appointed Chris Wozencroft as commercial manager for Scotland.

Based in the firm’s Glasgow office, he will lead commercial activities across the company’s Scottish portfolio, with a particular focus on projects for Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) Transmission.

Chris brings commercial management experience across multiple infrastructure sectors, including rail, water, construction and energy. Prior to joining Burns & McDonnell, he spent five years as senior commercial manager at SPL Powerlines, where he supported the delivery of Network Rail Scotland’s railway electrification and decarbonisation programme.

This appointment comes at a time of continued investment in Scotland’s electricity network, with demand growing for new transmission infrastructure to support the country’s energy transition ambitions.

Chris Wozencroft said, “I’m excited to be joining Burns & McDonnell at such an important time for the transmission and distribution sector. The scale of investment planned across Scotland presents significant opportunities, and I’m looking forward to working with our teams and clients to help deliver the infrastructure that communities and businesses rely on every day. My focus will be on supporting our people, strengthening client relationships and helping grow our presence in Scotland through the successful delivery of projects.”

Jason Chandler, UK transmission & distribution MD at Burns & McDonnell, added, “Chris brings a wealth of commercial and infrastructure experience, alongside a strong track record of supporting complex project delivery across multiple sectors. His knowledge of the Scottish market and collaborative approach make him an excellent addition to our team as we continue to expand our transmission and distribution capabilities across the U.K. We are delighted to welcome him to Burns & McDonnell.”

Kyle Roberts, executive MD & VP at Burns & McDonnell UK, said, “The opportunities within Scotland’s energy infrastructure sector continue to grow, and attracting experienced commercial leaders is critical to our success. Chris’s experience in commercial management and his understanding of major infrastructure programmes will help strengthen our ability to deliver value for clients and support the long-term development of our operations in Scotland.”
