A masterclass at the Homebuilding & Renovating Show is to detail how an initial £2,000 investment turned into £200,000 in equity in just two years.
The session will look at the decisions, planning, and project management behind the result – offering visitors insight into how to create value through self-build.
The Homebuilding & Renovating Show returns to the Royal Highland Centre on October 3 and 4. The wider show programme also includes expert sessions covering every stage of the homebuilding journey – from finding a plot and managing a budget to navigating the planning process and understanding how to reclaim VAT on eligible self-build projects.
Visitors will also have access to the show’s free Advice Centre, where they can book one to one consultations with independent experts on planning, design, structural engineering, finance, and energy efficiency.
Property expert Michael Holmes, commented, “With the cost and availability of existing homes continuing to be a challenge, more people are looking at self-build as an alternative. The biggest mistake is starting without understanding what’s involved. By speaking to experts before you buy a plot or begin a project, you can make better decisions, avoid costly mistakes and understand whether self-build is the right option for you.”
