ARC-Tech (Scotland), the Glasgow-headquartered mechanical, electrical and renewables firm, has recruited six new apprentices across its electrical and plumbing trades.
The new intake, all aged between 17 and 19, will take the company’s total apprentice headcount to 19 and comes as the business continues to scale up as a major building services contractor for clients across both the public and private sectors.
Founded in 2016, Arc-Tech has grown from a small founding team to a business employing 120 people and generating an annual turnover in excess of £35 million. The business supports work across a variety of sectors, including solar & renewable heating and fire suppression solutions for new build housing, commercial, and industrial contracts.
Arc-Tech is also heavily involved in the care sector, having supported the delivery of 13 care homes across 10 Scottish local authority areas since 2016.
The new apprentices will combine on-site experience with college learning and mentorship from experienced engineers.
Arc-Tech says its apprenticeship programme is a direct response to the industry’s skills gap. Of this year’s graduates, all six retained permanent roles within the business, while four staff members are involved in a form of traineeship.
