VOLUNTEERS from Barratt and David Wilson Homes North have created a new outdoor learning and play space at Brimmond School in Bucksburn.
A team of 14 housebuilders joined specialists from LIFE Landscaping to transform the outdoor space over five days into the learning and play area. Lined with newly planted wildflowers, bark and willow trees, it has been created to bring nature-based learning into everyday school life.
The transformation was made possible through the Barratt and David Wilson Homes Scotland Community Fund, which will provide over £63,000 this year to charities and community groups in the areas where the housebuilders build.
Backed by the Barratt Redrow Foundation, the charitable arm of Barratt Redrow, the fund has already shared £7,500 between four organisations across the North of Scotland, including Aberdeen cancer charity Friends of Anchor and children’s charity Charlie House.

Having worked with pupils on previous community initiatives, it was fantastic to be welcomed back to Brimmond School and to see this project come to fruition together.

Helping create a better outdoor space for the pupils at Brimmond School is a project our team is proud to be part of. It aligns closely with our commitments to sustainability and our vision to nurture outdoor spaces, and we can’t wait to see the difference it makes when the children return after the summer holidays.”
