ABERDEEN City Council is to publish a tender document detailing £1.39 million of investment works for the historic Beach Ballroom.
The move, which forms part of the city centre and beach masterplan, was agreed at Aberdeen City Council’s finance and resources committee on August 5.
The work includes roof and external building repairs including dome rebuild and leadwork replacement, improved disability access, replacement of Star Ballroom windows, delivery of a new gantry, access stairs to the roof space, and alarm and CCTV upgrades.
Aberdeen City Council finance and resources committee convener, councillor Alex McLellan, said, “The Beach Ballroom is an incredibly important building in our city and we are investing in the fabric of the building , ensuring that we are getting the basics right, to ensure it continues to meet the need of generations to come.
“I look forward to seeing the improvement works begin in the near future, which highlights the Beach Ballroom is a key part of our beachfront moving forward.”
The tender is expected to go live in winter 2026/2027, Aberdeen City Council said.
