UNITED Infrastructure has established a permanent presence in the Highlands after officially opening its new office in Alness.
The Warrington-headquartered company said the move underlines its commitment to Scotland and marks a significant milestone in its support of SSEN Transmission’s £29 billion investment in the north of Scotland.
The office will play a key role in supporting the delivery of proposed power infrastructure projects across the Highlands and beyond.
A recent opening event was attended by United Infrastructure’s senior leadership team and representatives from SSEN Transmission, as well as those from the Highland Council, local businesses, third-sector organisations, and community groups.
Guests took part in site visits to view progress on works associated with the accelerating strategic transmission investment (ASTI) programme, which is playing a vital role in delivering the network infrastructure required to support Britain’s electrification ambitions.
As part of the event, catering was provided by GroForYou, a local social enterprise operating from its newly opened Community Innovation Campus in Tain, as part of United Infrastructure’s commitment to creating meaningful social value.Â
The firm has also signed the Developing the Young Workforce Employer Pledge and joined the Inverness Chamber of Commerce. United Infrastructure added that it is focused on ensuring its presence in the Highlands generates lasting benefits for local communities through economic investment, employment opportunities, skills development, and support for community organisations.
