A luxury care home in Edinburgh has unveiled its newly refurbished cinema room, providing residents with a space to enjoy classic films, socialise, and take part in a range of entertainment activities.
Cramond Residence celebrated the occasion with a red-carpet event, complete with prosecco, ice cream and a ceremonial ribbon cutting. Residents and staff gathered for a first look at the space, which features a projector, new seating and new tables, before settling in for the cinema’s inaugural screening of The Greatest Showman.
The cinema room has been enhanced as part of the residence’s commitment to improving the resident experience and quality of life. Previously a shared communal area, the space has been transformed to deliver a ‘comfortable and immersive’ viewing environment.
Beyond entertainment, film can play a valuable role in supporting wellbeing, sparking memories and encouraging conversation.
The joinery and decorating work was completed by Billy Early, Cramond’s in-house maintenance manager.

Seeing the excitement on residents’ faces as they stepped onto the red carpet and into the cinema for the first time was incredibly special, and it’s moments such as these that remind us why creating enriching experiences is such a vital part of what we do.
