THE Springfield Group has welcomed 16 new apprentices, recruited across the organisation’s Tulloch Homes and Springfield Properties businesses.
With sites across Moray and Highlands, the housebuilders are commited to developing local talent. More than 20% of the site workforce began their careers through an apprenticeship.
The new employees will have the opportunity to bring their classroom theory to life, training in disciplines including bricklaying, painting and joinery.
Beauly shinty player, Iain Hunter, is among the new recruits. Set to be based at the Tulloch Conon Green development in Conon Bridge, Iain is learning joinery at the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI). He said, “I’ve been interested in joinery since I was at school – it’s a trade you can build a future, and I like that you can see your work come together. As I play shinty, I have been familiar with Tulloch for some time as they sponsor the Camanachd Cup, so I was pleased when I saw they were recruiting for apprentices. I’m really delighted to be part of the team and to get started on site.”

In the past too often people from this part of Scotland need to relocate to train or find work – as a key employer in the area, we are embracing the opportunities for economic growth and are proud to be creating new jobs locally.
“The apprentices joining us today will play an important role in the future of our business, while helping to strengthen the skilled local workforce that communities across Moray and the Highlands rely on.”
