Homebuilding & Renovating Show returns to Edinburgh this October

THE Homebuilding & Renovating Show will be held at the Royal Highland Centre on October 3 and 4.

The show covers everything from self-build and extensions to conversions, renovations, kitchens, bathrooms, heating, energy efficiency, and planning permission – with free admission on both days.

Visitors can book free one-to-one appointments at the Advice Centre, where architects, structural engineers, planning specialists, finance professionals and eco advisors are on hand to give impartial guidance on any type of project.

There is also a programme of free seminars and masterclasses running across both days. Scottish architect Allan Corfield will share ideas for adding space without extending, including loft, garage and cellar conversions. Heating and eco expert David Hilton will look at how to make older homes warmer and cheaper to run, from heat pumps to the latest retrofit options. Landscape and garden designer MarieAnne Messenger will cover outdoor design, while finance expert Tom McSherry will talk about how to approach funding and reclaim VAT on a self-build project.

Some 130 exhibitors will be at the show covering kitchens, bathrooms, windows, doors, heating, structural systems, flooring, lighting, and renewable energy.
