THE JR Group recently marked the 10th anniversary of its construction division by raising £1,300 for the Emmie Smillie Charity Foundation.
A charity golf day brought together employees, clients and industry partners to raise funds for a cause that has become synonymous with the Paisley-based contractor’s community fundraising efforts.
The JR Group has been a long-standing supporter of the Emmie Smillie Charity Foundation and raised more than £70,000 for the charity’s work last year alone. Established in 2016 in memory of Emmie Smillie, the foundation provides financial support to cancer charities, hospices and palliative care facilities across Glasgow and Scotland’s central belt, helping improve care and support for patients and their families.
Gary McGregor, MD of The JR Group, explained, “Celebrating ten years of our construction division gave us the perfect opportunity to reflect not only on how far we’ve come as a business, but also on the values that have shaped our journey. Over the past decade, we’ve grown into one of the nation’s leading construction contractors, delivering projects of every scale and complexity across the country. While we’re incredibly proud of that achievement, we’re equally proud of the relationships we’ve built with our clients, partners and local communities along the way.
“Supporting the Emmie Smillie Charity Foundation is something that means a great deal to everyone at The JR Group. The Smillie family are close friends of the business, and we’ve seen first-hand the incredible difference the charity makes to cancer patients, families and care facilities across the central belt.
“Our golf day was a wonderful way to celebrate this important milestone while giving something back. We’d like to thank everyone who joined us, donated and helped make the day such a success. As The JR Group continues to grow, supporting charities and community initiatives will remain at the heart of who we are.”
