CONSTRUCTION has started on a new 30-home development in Bridgend, West Lothian, situated adjacent from Bridgend Golf Club.
Willowdean, which is being delivered by Lochay Homes, will deliver 18 three and four-bedroom homes for private sale and 12 two-bedroom homes for social rent.
With sustainability described as ‘central’ to the project, the properties feature air source heat pumps and EV charging points as standard.
Select homes in the site will qualify for the newly announced First Home Fund, which provides first-time buyers with an equity contribution of up to £10,000 towards the purchase of a home valued at up to £300,000.
Initial site preparation works are underway, with construction expected to complete in spring 2027. A second phase, featuring a new range of house types, is planned to commence later this year.
Jamie Thomson, director at Lochay Homes, said, “At Willowdean, our focus is on delivering thoughtfully designed homes that reflect how people live today. The layouts have been carefully considered to provide flexible, practical spaces that work for modern lifestyles, whether that’s home working or accommodating growing families.
“As a smaller-scale development, Willowdean gives us the opportunity to take a considered approach to design and ensure the homes complement the local area. It’s exciting to see work now underway and progress being made on bringing these homes to market.”
