TAYLOR Wimpey East Scotland has secured an Approval of Matters Specified in Conditions (AMSC) planning consent from Fife Council for the development of land in the Kingswood area of Dunfermline.
The site will provide 141 new homes and forms part of what will become known as Dunfermline’s New City Quarter.
Planning Permission in Principle (PPiP) has already been secured for the wider Kingswood masterplan development, and this planning approval confirms Taylor Wimpey’s detailed plans for housing, landscaping, and building materials.
The approved development will provide a mix of two, three, four, and five-bedroom homes and will feature a new range of homes that the housebuilder plans to build in Scotland.
“Kingswood represents the next exciting chapter in our strong and successful collaboration with Stirling Developments,” said Abby Kelman, interim land director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland. “Our partnership has already delivered the thriving Calderwood community in East Calder, West Lothian, and we’re proud to build on that legacy with this new development.”
The wider Kingswood masterplan will include two primary schools, shops, employment and commercial units, as well as healthcare facilities, parks and green spaces. The wider masterplan will also provide 25% affordable housing and is expected to be home to around 4,700 people upon completion, creating more than 7,000 jobs.
Pauline Mills, technical director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, added, “We are delighted to have received detailed planning consent for our development at Kingswood. This approval allows us to move forward with creating a high-quality, sustainable community that reflects our long-term commitment to the Fife area.
“Our development has a strong focus on biodiversity and sustainability, with features such as bird boxes, bee-friendly planting, and solar PV panels on every home. We’re proud to be contributing to the broader Kingswood vision, which will ultimately provide homes, schools, green spaces, and economic opportunities for thousands of people.”
