AN agreement between Taylor Wimpey East Scotland and Wheatley Homes has been finalised, paving the way for 34 new affordable homes at Letham Meadows on the outskirts of Haddington, East Lothian.
The deal will provide a mix of 12 two-bedroom mid-market rent apartments and 22 social rent two, three and four-bedroom homes.
Construction is already underway, with the first homes scheduled for handover in August 2026. The project is supported through the Affordable Housing Supply Programme and the Scottish Government’s Charitable Bonds programme, which provides loan funding to housing associations to increase the supply of affordable housing.
In a separate project, Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has finalised an agreement with Home Group Scotland to deliver 16 affordable homes for social rent at the Calderwood development in East Calder.
This development will include a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom properties. Construction is scheduled to begin later this year, with the first completed homes expected to be handed over to Home Group Scotland in early 2027.
The agreement marks the latest phase of affordable housing delivery at Calderwood and reflects the ongoing partnership between Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, Home Group Scotland, and West Lothian Council to expand access to homes in the area.
The 16 properties for social rent will form part of the wider Calderwood masterplan, which continues to deliver new homes, green spaces, and community facilities.
