Green terracotta building tipped to ‘raise the bar’ for Glasgow’s student accommodation offering

St Vincent Studios student complex, Glasgow

ARTISAN Real Estate has launched its latest student accommodation development in Glasgow city centre with the unveiling of St Vincent Studios.

The green terracotta building will provide 321 studio apartments ahead of the 2026/27 academic term.

Each studio has an ensuite shower room and provides a fully equipped kitchen together with a dedicated desk and study area, double bed, large wardrobe and internal storage spaces. Students can choose from a range of room sizes – from ‘classic’ to ‘premium’.

Communal facilities include five private roof terraces, dedicated study areas, a cinema room, games room, gym and yoga/dance studio and a private dining space and sky-lounge.

There is internal cycle storage for 160 bikes and laundry rooms featuring washer dryers operated by an app. Super-fast fibre optic wi-fi is available throughout the building along with CCTV.  There is also a reception area with 24/7 access.

The development follow’s Artisan’s transformation of Glasgow’s Custom House into a Clydeside hotel quarter, and precedes construction of 109 new low carbon homes for sale and commercial space at 69-97 Ingram Street, which is due to commence later this year.

Construction began in November 2024, bringing together Artisan Real Estate with Housing Growth Partnership (HGP), the Lloyds-backed equity investor for the UK living sector.

“St Vincent Studios is set to significantly raise the bar for Glasgow’s provision of premium purpose-built student accommodation,” said Artisan MD for Scotland, David Westwater. “The site is in a superb city centre location and meets the urgent need for high-quality accommodation in the city – and in particular, individual studio apartments. The location and quality of the development is now being demonstrated by the significant level of interest from students and the number of lettings we have achieved this early in the cycle.”

St Vincent Studios is operated by Homes for Students under its Prestige Living brand. The building is being delivered by GRAHAM.

William Ross, construction director at GRAHAM, added, “Our experienced team worked in partnership with Artisan Real Estate to manage complex ground conditions and the sensitivities of working alongside listed buildings, delivering the scheme ahead of programme and within budget. A site that sat vacant for years is now back in productive use due to our committed construction partnership.”
