Network Rail

THE railway bridge at Pollokshaws Road in Glasgow is to be upgraded in a £900,000 Network Rail project.

From July 13, engineers will repair and repaint the bridge, improve drainage, and clear vegetation to extend its lifespan. The work is due to be completed by September 19, Network Rail added..

The investment is part of Network Rail’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving Scotland’s railway infrastructure, ensuring it remains safe, resilient and reliable for years to come.

Lesley Percy, scheme project manager at Network Rail Scotland, said, “This investment will help ensure Pollokshaws Road bridge remains safe and fit for the future, supporting reliable journeys for passengers and road users alike.

“We appreciate that some disruption is unavoidable, and we’d like to thank the community in advance for their patience while we carry out these essential improvements.”
