STAFF from the Edinburgh Boiler Company (EBC) will be hoping to help the Tartan Army turn up the heat on Scotland’s World Cup opponents when the action kicks off in Boston this weekend.
Steve Clarke’s men open their campaign against Haiti in Massachusetts in the early hours of Sunday morning (UK time) and EBC MD Dougie Bell will be there with his wife Annette, solar installer with the Dalkeith-based firm.
The pair will also be going to the Morocco game at the Boston Stadium in Foxborough where they hope to see the Scots take a major step towards making it through the group phase of the tournament for the first time. They’ll be joined for that Group C showdown by colleague Ewen Burgess.
While they then head back home, flying out to Miami for the glamour clash with Brazil will be EBC’s operations director Conor Maguire.
“It’s the trip of a lifetime for me and the wife,” said Dougie. “It has been so long since Scotland were last at a World Cup finals we just had to be there to enjoy what I’m sure will be an amazing experience. It goes without saying that everyone at the Edinburgh Boiler Company wishes Steve Clarke and the boys well.”
