CLARK Contracts recently welcomed students from the University of Edinburgh to one of its student accommodation developments as part of the university’s Insights Programme.
The visit to a site in Edinburgh city centre provided students with an opportunity to explore careers in construction and experience a live project environment first-hand.
They toured the site, met members of the project team, and took part in a Q&A session exploring the range of roles involved in delivering construction projects. Representatives from Clark’s recruitment team were on hand, alongside a University of Edinburgh alumnus, to share advice on career pathways, workplace experiences, and the different routes into the industry.
The Insights Programme supports students in developing the confidence, skills and connections needed to explore future careers through access to workplace experiences and alumni networks.
Michael Scanlan, director at Clark Contracts, said, “We were delighted to welcome students from the University of Edinburgh to our site and provide an insight into the wide range of opportunities available within the construction industry. Visits like this help young people better understand the different career paths open to them, while showcasing the collaborative nature of project delivery and the variety of roles involved.”
Clark Contracts is currently delivering the University of Edinburgh’s Large Animal Research and Imaging Facility (LARIF), supporting the future of agricultural and biomedical research.
