REGISTRATION has officially opened for the 2026 Bridge to Bridge Highland Cycle, with organisers hoping it’ll be the biggest and most impactful yet.
Taking place on Saturday 12 September, the charity cycle will once again see hundreds of cyclists travel the iconic 77-mile route from the Skye Bridge to the Kessock Bridge – raising vital funds for local charities and community organisations across the Highlands.
Since launching in 2022, Bridge to Bridge has raised more than £376,000 for local causes, with over £104,000 raised during the 2025 event alone. To date, more than 570 cyclists have taken part in the challenge, helping fund essential services, equipment, support programmes and therapies for young people and families across the region.
Every single penny raised stays within the Highlands, with all event costs covered by generous local business sponsors and supporters. This year’s event will support Àban Outdoor, This Is Me Highland, and HALO (Highland Action for Little Ones).
Additional donations will also be made to Inspire Project, Disability Sport Highland, Inverness Women’s Aid, Outfit Moray, and Highland Hospital Radio.
Speaking ahead of this year’s event, Willie Gray, co-organiser of Bridge to Bridge Highland Cycle and MD of Ark Estates, said, “Every year we’re blown away by the support this event receives from cyclists, volunteers, sponsors and the wider community. What started as an idea between friends has grown into something incredibly special, and we’re proud that every pound raised goes directly back into local causes across the Highlands.
“The atmosphere on the day is amazing. You have everyone from experienced cyclists to people taking on their first major challenge, all coming together for a common cause. We’d love to see even more riders and corporate teams get involved in 2026 and help us make an even bigger impact this year.
“On behalf of Bridge to Bridge organisers, I’d like to extended our thanks to the many local sponsors, volunteers and supporters who help make the event possible each year. Our sponsors are too many to mention – and in some cases prefer not to be mentioned . Thank you for your incredible generosity which ensures that all funds raised stay within Highland communities.”
David Duguid, operations director at Aurora Energy Services, added, “We’re proud to continue supporting Bridge to Bridge because the impact it has across the Highlands is genuinely incredible. You can see first-hand how much the event means to the charities, the volunteers and the communities involved.
“As both a sponsor and participant for the last three years, it’s been fantastic to watch the event grow year after year. There’s a real sense of community around it, and we’re delighted to be entering a corporate team again in 2026 to help support another hugely successful event.”
The event has seen growing interest from businesses across the Highlands, with organisers encouraging companies to enter corporate teams as part of their fundraising efforts. Corporate teams can enter with groups of three or more riders, with registration packages including event entry, sponsorship and social media coverage.
Participants and their bikes are transported to the start line on Skye on the morning of the event, with support crews, food stops and technical assistance provided along the route to help riders complete the challenge.
