AS Homes (Scotland) has started construction on 19 new homes for social rent in Arden, Glasgow.
The £4.3 million project is being delivered in partnership with Glen Oaks Housing Association, supported by £2.8 million grant funding from the Scottish Government via Glasgow City Council with the remainder from private finance.
The new homes comprise a mix of four-bedroom end terrace properties alongside two and three-bedroom terraced villas. The properties will incorporate sustainability features including enhanced insulation, air-source heating systems, and water conservation measures.
The develipment marks an ongoing collaboration between AS Homes and Glen Oaks Housing Association, following the completion of the previous phase of the Arden regeneration project in 2020.
The initiative will also include open spaces with the aim of creating strong physical and social connections between this new phase and the existing community.
Paul Kelly, MD of AS Homes, said, “This site start represents an important milestone in our continued partnership with Glen Oaks Housing Association. We are proud to be delivering high-quality, energy-efficient homes that will make a real difference to families in Arden. There is significant demand for affordable housing across Glasgow, and we are committed to supporting the creation of sustainable communities through projects such as this.”
Nicola Logan, CEO of Glen Oaks Housing Association, added, “It’s fantastic to see work begin on this next phase of regeneration in Arden to provide new homes and further strengthen the community. We look forward to welcoming new residents once the development is complete.”
The homes are expected to be completed in April 2027.
