THE Springfield Group has announced its sponsorship of promising young golfer Fraser Brown.
A pupil at Millburn Academy in Inverness, the 16-year-old is a member of Nairn Golf Club and first began golfing at nine-years of age – winning his first ever junior event at Montrose Golf Club just six months later!
Since then, he has gone on to achieve significant milestones, including representing Scotland on multiple occasions and earning selection on the Scottish national team. Last season, Fraser had a strong run of results – securing multiple top-five finishes in the under 18 age group on the Junior Tour Scotland circuit and at Stephen Gallacher Foundation events. He currently plays off an impressive handicap of +2.
His growing list of achievements also includes being named a Junior Tour Ambassador, Nairn Golf Club Junior Captain as well as being selected for the prestigious Paul Lawrie Academy training squad. He has also previously trained with the North District Academy, further strengthening his development within the sport.
Through this new sponsorship, The Springfield Group – who are building homes across the Highlands and Moray – will support Fraser with opportunities to compete in tournaments across Scotland, helping him continue to build experience competing at a high level.
Speaking about the partnership with The Springfield Group, Fraser Brown said, “I’m extremely grateful for the support from The Springfield Group. Their sponsorship will unlock further opportunities to travel and compete throughout Scotland. I appreciate everything the company has already done for me. I’m proud to represent Springfield and will continue to work hard, compete to the best of my ability and wear the badge with pride.”
The Springfield Group has a strong track record of supporting emerging sporting talent across Scotland, having previously supported Scottish Professional Golfer, Calum Scott and have continued their support of junior golfer Summer Elliott. This latest sponsorship reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to investing in local communities and helping young athletes reach their full potential.
The Springfield Group chief executive, Innes Smith, added, “We’re delighted to support Fraser as he continues to progress in his golfing career. His dedication, talent and achievements to date are hugely impressive, and we’re proud to play a part in helping him pursue his ambitions of turning professional and competing on an international stage.”
