SCOTTISH legal firm Lindsays has strengthened its commercial property team with the appointment of Philip Sim as a consultant.

The experienced lawyer has joined the Glasgow office as Lindsays continues to support a portfolio of work across the full spectrum of commercial property matters. He has spent the past eight years running his own legal practice – Sim Legal – having previously been a partner at Ledingham Chalmers, McClure Naismith and Harper Macleod.

The appointment marks further growth for Lindsays’ commercial property team, which has expanded by 20% since March last year.

Philip Sim said, “Lindsays is the ideal fit for my clients and for me. Joining the firm creates new opportunities for me as part of a bigger team, while opening the benefits of a full-service firm – and the experience available across various specialisms – to my current clients, who I am pleased to continue working with. It’s a positive for everyone.

“The approach that Lindsays takes to its work chimes with mine. I am looking forward to playing my part in the team.”

Philip has advised on a number of medical centre projects in recent years, as well as filling stations, renewable development schemes, hotels, retail and residential developments.

Derek Nash, partner and head of commercial property at Lindsays, added, “This is another strong appointment in a series of strategic hires for us at every level of the team. It is fantastic to be able to grow the department as we respond to increasing demands from existing clients throughout the commercial property and investment sectors, as well as securing new work.”
