SCAFFOLDING and formwork innovator Doka has been awarded a silver rating by global sustainability assessor EcoVadis. This places Doka among the top 15% of all companies assessed worldwide.
Doka CEO Robert Hauser heralded the recognition as an important signal for customers, who are placing increasing importance on ‘transparent and verifiable’ sustainability performance.
EcoVadis evaluates companies on criteria including environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
Julia Weber, head of sustainability at Doka, said, “In the environmental category, Doka achieved an outstanding score of 91 out of 100 points. This places us among the top performers in our industry.”
Doka also received positive ratings across all other categories.
A key driver behind the performance is Doka’s commitment to science-based climate targets. To achieve net zero emissions by 2040, the company is embarking on solutions including expanding renewable energy sources, installing additional photovoltaic systems at its sites, and electrifying its vehicle fleet.
Doka revealed that it also focuses on durable products and an established rental model, including repair and refurbishment services for formwork and scaffolding to ensure materials remain in circulation for as long as possible.
New products such as the Xlife top formwork sheet integrate recycled materials and are designed for multiple reuse.
