DENTONS has announced the appointment of Gordon Anderson as a construction partner in its Projects practice in Glasgow.

He joins from Addleshaw Goddard, where he was a partner, to lead the law firm’s non-contentious UK construction practice.

Gordon brings 20 years’ experience of advising on infrastructure, mixed-use development, and regeneration projects. His clients include international asset managers and investment companies with interests in mixed-use property development, super-prime real estate developers, retirement and build to rent accommodation providers.

Gordon will take over the practice managed by non-contentious construction partner Mark Macaulay, who retired from the Glasgow office at the end of April, having been at Dentons (formerly Maclay Murray & Spens) in Scotland for 32 years.

Esther McDermott, partner and co-lead of the Dentons UK, Ireland & Middle East’s (UKIME) Projects practice in London, said, “Gordon has an outstanding track record of client relationships in the construction sector and we are delighted he is joining the Dentons team to take over Mark’s practice and expand his own impressive portfolio. Based in Scotland, Gordon will help us provide seamless, first class construction expertise throughout the UK and help build upon our leading reputation for international construction and infrastructure work.”

Tasmyn Brittlebank, partner in the non-contentious construction team, added, “Gordon is a very experienced construction lawyer and we are pleased to welcome him to our UKIME team at a busy time for our practice. I look forward to working with Gordon on our extensive book of construction matters and to cultivating even stronger relationships with major construction, infrastructure and real estate clients through his network.”

Gordon Anderson said, “I am excited to lead Dentons’ highly-regarded non-contentious construction practice. The firm’s global reach and impressive client base offer an exceptional opportunity to build on the team’s excellent work to date in establishing a world-class construction team.”
