THE new Caledonia High School in Fife is less than 100 days from opening as BAM nears completion of the £88 million learning facility.
The school will replace Inverkeithing High and will have capacity to accommodate 1,735 pupils, over three floors, with an open ‘see and be seen’ approach throughout.
The Passivhaus building has been built to similar standards as the award-winning Dunfermline Learning Campus – with it featuring fully accessible and flexible indoor and outdoor spaces for learning, and improved facilities for pupils with additional support needs.
Further to this is an assembly hall which can accommodate 350 pupils with retractable, tiered seating that can be moved away to allow the space to be used for a variety of purposes; enhanced digital capacity, modern IT and Wi-Fi access which will increase the opportunities for digital learning both for individual learners and community groups; and a mixture of all-weather pitches.
