SHARED equity homes are to be made available at Caledonia Housing Association‘s developments in Inverness and Perthshire.
The homes form part of wider developments delivering 50 affordable properties across the two locations, including homes for social rent and shared equity purchase opportunities designed to help more people access home ownership.
In Inverness, six shared equity homes are being delivered at the new Easterfield development on the south-eastern outskirts of the city – alongside 22 homes for social rent.
In Perthshire, five shared equity family homes are now available at the Mill Street development in Stanley, near Perth, which also includes 17 homes for social rent.
Shared equity provides a more affordable route into home ownership, allowing buyers to purchase a proportion of a property while Caledonia retains the remaining share. This helps reduce the upfront cost of buying, assists in managing monthly payments, and makes home ownership more accessible for households which may otherwise struggle to buy on the open market.
Both developments have been designed with sustainability at the centre, helping residents reduce energy costs while supporting lower carbon living.
The Easterfield homes in Inverness will achieve an EPC B energy rating and will be fitted with air source heat pumps, providing zero direct carbon emissions from heating. The properties will also feature fire suppression systems.
At Mill Street in Stanley, the homes will achieve an EPC A energy rating and will include air source heat pumps and solar photovoltaic panels, helping households reduce energy use and long-term costs.
Located around three miles south-east of Inverness city centre, the Easterfield development offers views across the Moray Firth and the Black Isle while remaining close to local amenities, schools and transport links. The wider development includes open green spaces, walking trails, natural play areas and surrounding mature woodland, designed to create a strong sense of community.
Meanwhile, the Mill Street development is situated in the historic village of Stanley beside the River Tay, offering a peaceful rural setting with good connections to Perth, Dundee, and St Andrews.

The Inverness homes are being built by Springfield Homes, with construction having started in August 2025 and completion expected in late 2026/early 2027.
The Stanley development is being built by Ogilvie Homes Ltd, with construction beginning in March 2025 and completion expected in August 2026.
