McTaggart Construction donates £30,000 to Crossbasket House

MCTAGGART Construction has donated £30,000 to Crossbasket House as part of its 80th anniversary charitable giving programme.

Based within the campus of the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, Crossbasket House provides free accommodation to families whose children are receiving treatment at the hospital. The charity has welcomed over 12,000 families through its doors since opening in 1996.

The McTaggart donation will fund the running of a family room for a full year, helping to provide a vital space where families can find a moment of normality during what are often the most difficult periods of their lives.

The contribution is one of several charitable donations McTaggart Construction is making throughout 2026 as it celebrates eight decades of building homes and communities across Scotland.

Director Rosslyn Anderson said, “Reaching our 80th year is a real milestone, and we wanted to mark it in a way that reflects what we stand for as a company – supporting the communities we work in. Crossbasket House does something truly special: it gives families a place to be together during some of the most frightening times any parents could face. We’re proud to support their work and hope our contribution makes a real difference to the families who need it most.”

William McGowan-Smith, head of partnerships & business development for Crossbasket House, added, “We are incredibly grateful to McTaggart Construction for funding a family room at Crossbasket House. This support makes a real difference and is vital in helping us support the families of seriously ill children and young people being treated at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.”
