LINTHOUSE Housing Association welcomed representatives from CAF Bank to its head office to showcase the progress delivered through a funding partnership which is supporting the upgrade of the association’s entire housing stock.
CAF Bank representatives saw first-hand the impact of their investment, including the installation of new, double and triple-glazed windows and fire doors in more than 600 homes, alongside ongoing programmes of essential tenement stonework repairs.
The £8 million works are being delivered by CCG (Scotland) alongside HOOS Development, with additional support from the Scottish Government’s Social Housing Net Zero Fund.
The improvements are central to Linthouse Housing Association’s long-term commitment to improving the quality, safety, and energy performance of its homes, helping to boost heat retention, and reduce energy loss for tenants, while stonework repairs safeguard the structural integrity and historic character of Govan’s tenements.
During the visit, CAF Bank representatives met with Linthouse staff and tenants, took part in site walk-throughs, and discussed the wider community impact generated by the investment.
Linthouse Housing Association chief executive, Irene McFarlane, said, “We are extremely proud of the partnership we have built with our funders at CAF Bank and our contractor, CCG. Thanks to partial grant funding from the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council, we have been able to invest in essential repairs to the building envelopes of all 800 of our pre-1919 tenements in Linthouse.
“The feedback from our tenants to date has been overwhelmingly positive, with the installation of energy-efficient double- and triple-glazed windows, alongside high-performance doors making a significant difference to their comfort – helping to retain heat, reduce noise, and enhance security.
“We are pleased to confirm that this multi-million-pound project will be completed this month, alongside the commencement of further stone repairs, ensuring our iconic tenements stand strong for many more years to come.”
