DOZENS of children enjoyed an Easter to remember thanks to the generosity of Livingston company John Heaney (Electrical) Ltd.
The electrical and mechanical engineering specialist donated 60 tickets for the Scottish Football Museum at Hampden Park to the West Lothian Community Foundation (WLCF), a charity which delivers football-based programmes and activities that provide wider social benefit for communities.
As part of the foundation’s Easter camps, a trip to the national stadium in Glasgow was organised, and thanks to JHE’s donation, the group enjoyed a memorable day out at the famous venue.
As well as enjoying a behind-the-scenes stadium tour, the children followed in the footsteps of Scotland World Cup heroes Scott McTominay, Kieran Tierney and John McGinn with a coaching session on the indoor warm-up pitch.
Leaghann Watson, WLCF general manager, said, “We would like to say a massive ‘thank-you’ to John Heaney Electrical for their incredibly generous support with their donation of tickets to the Scottish Football Museum at Hampden Park. Because of this, we were able to keep our Easter camp prices low and affordable, ensuring more children across West Lothian could take part in a truly special experience.
“In a World Cup year, with Scotland qualifying for the first time in our youngsters’ lifetimes, it felt especially important they had the chance to visit Hampden Park, learn about our footballing history and be inspired by it.
“Without the support of JHE, this is something that many children simply wouldn’t have had the opportunity to experience. This is what real community support looks like – creating memories, opening doors and giving young people opportunities they will never forget.
