SPORTING legends have helped mark the official opening of Jewson Aberdeen’s newly refurbished branch.
Gordon Strachan, Jimmy Bullard and John Henderson took on guests in a series of football and darts challenges, while local vendors including Aberdam Fries served up free food and drink. There was live entertainment from DJ and TikTok personality Graeme Strachan, as well as on-the-day deals, a charity raffle, giveaways, and supplier demos for local builders and tradespeople.
Over £400 was also raised for local charity Whiteley’s Retreat, which provides free respite breaks and extended support to children, young people and their families with cancer or a life limiting illness across Scotland.
The branch – located on The Parkway at the Bridge of Don – now stocks thousands of extra products and materials, so Aberdeen’s builders and tradespeople can find everything they need in one place, with a huge choice of plumbing and heating materials as well as an extensive UPVC cladding, soffits and fascias range.
Jewson has also expanded its in-branch tool hire offering and appointed a new tool hire manager in Scott Gavin. Customers can benefit from drive-in loading bays, where timber is kept dry undercover to protect it from the elements, while the new bathroom showroom provides access to an on-hand specialist.
Branch director Iain Christie said, “The launch event was a huge success, with more than 200 locals joining us to celebrate this important milestone, after months of hard work from the team to get the branch ready. We hope to continue the celebratory feel over the coming weeks, and we welcome local tradespeople to pop in for a free hot drink, meet with our friendly, knowledgeable team and have a look around the new Jewson Aberdeen branch of the future.”
