BUILDING materials merchant PDM has strengthened its relationship with Maxwell Construction & Civils after securing a £250,000 contract to support a wind farm infrastructure project.
Under the agreement, PDM will supply specialist Emtelle ducting and cable tiles to support Maxwell in the installation of power and fibre cables for a new private connection to a substation. The 4km connection will enable electricity generated at the Priestgill Wind Farm in South Lanarkshire to be integrated into the network.
PDM has partnered with Maxwell on previous projects, including, most recently, the supply of ducting, warning tiles and fibre chambers on the Sanquhar 2 Wind Farm for Scottish Power.
Glen Maxwell of Maxwell Construction said, “We’re pleased to be continuing our relationship with PDM on this latest project. Having worked together previously, we know the team understands our requirements and consistently delivers the right solutions. Their responsiveness, competitiveness and proven experience on similar work made them a natural choice for this contract.”
Tony Lynch of PDM added, “This contract reflects the strength of the relationship we’ve developed with Maxwell Construction over the past few years. By taking the time to understand what the team needs on site and responding quickly with the right products, we’ve built a real level of trust. We’re delighted to be supporting this project and to be playing a role in infrastructure that helps bring more renewable energy onto the network.”
Deliveries for the project are scheduled to begin shortly and will continue over the next six months as work progresses on the grid connection.
