MUIR Construction has commenced work on the build of a new-build office and logistics facility on behalf of Kingdom Housing Association in Glenrothes.
The project will comprise a 650m² three-storey office and logistics building, alongside an attached single-storey, double-height depot.
The development will also include a dedicated staff training centre and modern storage facilities, designed to support KHA’s operational requirements and future growth. Associated siteworks will form part of the overall delivery, with demolition works already completed.
Construction is now underway on site, with a recent sod cutting ceremony attended by representatives from Muir Construction and Kingdom Housing Association to mark the start of the build phase.
Located close to Muir Construction’s base in Inverkeithing, the project reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting local communities and economies. A strong emphasis will be placed on local, sustainable procurement, with opportunities created for regional SMEs and third sector organisations to contribute to the project’s delivery, it added.
In collaboration with Kingdom Housing Association, Muir Construction will also deliver a bespoke suite of community benefits. These will be developed and implemented in partnership with its supply chain, ensuring meaningful and lasting social value is generated throughout the project lifecycle.
David Fairweather, business development director at Muir Construction, said, “We are delighted to be working with Kingdom Housing Association on this important development in Glenrothes, particularly given its proximity to our base in Inverkeithing and the shared commitment to supporting local communities.
“This project reflects the strength of our Group’s relationship with KHA and highlights our continued growth in the delivery of high-quality office and logistics facilities. As demand increases for sustainable, modern workspace, we are well positioned to support clients in delivering developments that meet both operational needs and evolving environmental standards.
“We also look forward to working closely with our supply chain partners to deliver meaningful community benefits, ensuring the project creates a positive and lasting impact locally.”
