
MACKENZIE Construction has secured a £1.2 million contract to repair the pier at Portree Harbour.
The Highland Council project will include concrete deck repairs, repairs to the hexagonal piles, and berthing face piles as well as cathodic protection of the steelwork. The works will start on the 23rd of March 2026 for a period of 24 weeks.

Councillor John Finlayson, chair of Highland Council’s Isle of Skye and Raasay committee, added, “It is good to hear that this contract has been announced and after hosting a meeting recently with officers from many other services, I look forward to partnership working taking place between the council and the contractor to tackle other challenges that require attention at the harbour.”
