PAUL Bradley has been appointed by SFHA as director of external affairs, with a remit to lead on policy, public affairs, and strategy.

Currently head of government relations at the University of Glasgow, Paul previously worked across policy and public affairs at third sector membership body SCVO. In his current role, he leads public affairs and political engagement and provides advice to the university’s principal & vice-chancellor on external engagement.

SFHA said Paul’s arrival ahead of this year’s Scottish elections positions the organisation to build on its advocacy work with the next Scottish Parliament and government, helping unlock conditions for ensuring housing associations can continue to make Scotland a ‘healthier, wealthier and fairer’ country.

Paul, who will join SFHA in April, said, “Ensuring that everyone has a safe, warm and affordable home is one of the defining challenges facing Scotland. SFHA has worked towards that for many years, and I’m proud to be joining the organisation at this crucial moment to play a part in those efforts.

“Housing associations are vital to Scotland’s communities and economy, from supporting their tenants to building the homes we really need. I look forward to returning to familiar ground working with members, and to partnering with others to deliver for people across the country.”

Richard Meade, SFHA CEO, added, “In the midst of a housing emergency and with seismic elections coming up, Scotland’s housing associations have never needed strong advocacy more. We’re hugely pleased to have Paul join us and I know he’ll be a strong advocate for our members.”
