CLARK Contracts has commenced work on a new development of retirement apartments in Dargavel Village, Bishopton, Renfrewshire.
Housebuilder Chrysalis Homes has appointed the Paisley-headquartered business to develop Waterside, a collection of 49 apartments that will be managed by McCarthy & Stone.
The site will feature five different designs of one and two-bedroom apartments. Homeowners will benefit from an onsite house manager, during working hours, who will lead a programme of activities within a communal lounge. Visitors can also arrange to stay within a guest suite and each apartment is fitted with a 24-hour emergency call system.
Dignitaries recently gathered on site for the official sod cutting ceremony to mark works starting, which are scheduled for completion in the autumn.
Linda Docherty, sales director, Chrysalis Homes, said, “Our apartments are specifically designed to support independent older residents who, perhaps want to live closer to their families within Dargavel Village, or seek an easy to run home. Our house manager provides peace of mind to deal with any queries that might pop up and people can be as social as they like, but there will be plenty of organised activities and events should they want to join in.
“Each apartment is low maintenance and energy efficient so there’s no need to worry about upkeep. We’re delighted to have the skills and expertise of Clark Contracts and McCarthy & Stone on board and are looking forward to welcoming interested home buyers.”
Michael Scanlan, director at Clark Contracts, added, “It is fantastic to have been appointed by Chrysalis Homes to complete the construction of this development in Dargavel. We are looking forward to working collaboratively with the team to deliver this high-quality living space.”
