MTM Construction is to deliver a new 15,822 sq ft industrial unit at Kingshill Commercial Park in Aberdeenshire on behalf of Knight Property Group.
The speculative development represents the final phase of the commercial park and the first of its size to be commenced in Westhill in 10 years.
Based in Aberdeen, MTM Construction will commence work on the build in early 2026 – with completion scheduled for the end of Q3 2026.
Set on a one-acre site, this £5 million development will comprise a 10,811 sq ft workshop and a 5,011 sq ft office, alongside a concrete yard of 11,948 sq ft, 46 car parking spaces, and EV charging points.
The unit will feature steel portal frame construction and ‘high-performance’ cladding. It will provide 8m eaves height, a 6m-high electric roller shutter door, all electric infrastructure, and the steelwork will be installed with suitable crane rails to accommodate 10-tonne cranage which can be provided by separate negotiation.
The project is targeting an EPC ‘A’ rating and will be powered by all electric infrastructure, with power secured from 100% renewable sources. Solar PV roof panels are provided to reduce the amount of power drawn from the network.
The unit is tipped to provide accommodation suitable for a range of occupiers including subsea, renewables, infrastructure, storage and distribution, oil and gas, and builders’ merchants.
James Barrack Jnr, director of Knight Property Group, said, “We have extensive experience delivering successful, sustainable speculative projects across Scotland and are excited to bring this high-quality development to Westhill. Building on the success of our previous schemes, we are confident it will attract new businesses and create valuable jobs for the region. We are also pleased to see MTM Construction start work on site.”
Doug Milne, MD of MTM Construction, added, “We are delighted to be able to commence construction at Kingshill Commercial Park. We have extensive experience of delivering high-quality industrial developments and look forward to working with Knight once again.”
